About us

Who shows up, what we carry, and how we spec a job

Windows and Siding Reno is a window, siding and door shop at 1155 Watson Way in Sparks. We do not sell kitchens, roofs or landscaping. The whole business is the outside envelope of a building, which is why the product list is short and the questions we ask are specific. Kitchens, roofs, additions and the structure of the house are outside what we sell, and we say so on the first call.

The crew

The people who actually arrive at your house

The estimator who measures your openings is the person who writes the order, and the crew on install day works for the same shop. Nothing is brokered out to a call center that sells the lead on to whoever bids first. That matters most on the day something goes wrong (a sash that arrives scratched, or a rough opening further out of square than the shim stack can take), because the person you already spoke to is the person who picks up.

Between the field crews and the office, this business carries 25+ years of experience in Northern Nevada exteriors. The useful part of that is not the number. It is that we can tell you on the phone why a 1970s aluminium slider in Sun Valley is a different job from a 2004 builder-vinyl unit in Spanish Springs, and price the two differently.

We work in Nevada only, from one location, and we keep the radius to what a truck can reach and come back from in a day. If a job sits outside that, you hear it before a site visit rather than after one.

What we carry

Six product lines, and why the list stops at six

We carry Alside, Andersen, Codel, James Hardie, Jeld-Wen and LP SmartSide. Six is a deliberate ceiling. A shop advertising thirty brands is telling you it orders whatever the supplier has in the yard that week. A shop that carries six has read the installation instructions for all six and knows the fastener, flashing and clearance each one wants.

The trade-off is worth saying out loud: if you want a line we do not carry, we are the wrong shop. What you get in exchange is a comparison done on your wall rather than out of a brochure: weight against substrate, expansion behaviour against your temperature swing, cut method against what the site allows.

Manufacturer warranty terms belong to the manufacturer. We quote them by name and by document, and hand you the sheet, instead of compressing them into a promise of our own.

Read the six lines in detail

The method

How a job gets specified before anything is ordered

This shop runs 1,000+ projects yearly, and every one of them goes through the same four steps, whether that is three windows on a rental or a full re-side on a twelve-unit building. Nothing is ordered off a photo, a phone description or a previous owner's paperwork.

Measure

Every opening is measured on site, in both directions, at three points. Out-of-square is recorded that day, not discovered on install day with a truck already in the driveway.

Specify

Exposure picks the product. A west or south elevation leads with solar heat gain; a shaded north wall at altitude leads with U-factor; a wildland-urban interface parcel makes cladding the first decision instead of glass.

Write it down

The quote is line items: unit count, frame material, glass package, tear-off, trim, disposal, and the exclusions. A number with no lines under it cannot be compared to anything.

Order, then schedule

Product is ordered against the measured list, and the install date is set once it lands rather than before. Flashing and trim details are agreed before the first unit comes off the truck.

Where the trucks go

Reno and Sparks are the core; the rest is a day's round trip

Dayton, Fallon, Fernley, Yerington, Gardnerville and Minden are regular work, and Incline Village is a Tahoe-basin job with its own rules. Each city page says what the exposure there does to the spec.

Licensing

The licences behind the work, and how to check them without asking us

Work sold on this site is contracted by Advanced Design & Development Inc, Nevada contractor license 0077896A. The licence carries that company’s name, not the name on this site. That distinction is the first thing that trips people up when they try to verify a contractor, so the steps for doing it properly are underneath the table.

Licences issued to Advanced Design & Development Inc, the contracting entity behind Windows and Siding Reno, plus the surety bond on file for its contractor licence. Licences checked 28 July 2026; the contractor licence and its bond were re-read on the Board’s record 23 September 2026.
Licence Issuing authority Number What the record shows
Contractor, class B Nevada State Contractors Board 0077896A B-1 Premanufactured Housing · B-2 Residential and Small Commercial · B-3 Speculative Building. Monetary limit $3,300,000. Held since 25 August 2020.
Business licence City of Reno R151107A-LIC Contractor
Business licence City of Sparks S086388A-LIC Contractor
Business licence Washoe County W002529A-LIC Annual county business licence
Manufactured housing Nevada Housing Division B1669 General Serviceperson (Installation)
Surety bond SureTec Insurance Company, on file with the Nevada State Contractors Board 6005162 $30,000 bond for licence 0077896A, read on the Board’s record 23 September 2026. A surety bond is not insurance.

All five licences are issued to Advanced Design & Development Inc, and the bond is on file with the Board under licence 0077896A. Search each licence record by its number: two of them are also filed under a registered firm name, so a name search can miss them. That legal name is what a record search needs, not the site's name and not a person's name.

How to confirm the contractor licence yourself

  1. Open the Board's public licence search at app.nvcontractorsboard.com. No account, no fee, and it is the same record the Board's own staff work from.
  2. Search the number 0077896A, or the business name Advanced Design & Development Inc. Searching “Windows and Siding Reno” returns nothing at all (a Nevada licence is issued to a legal entity, and this one carries only the corporation’s name), and that empty result is the most common reason a homeowner decides a shop is unlicensed when it is not.
  3. Hold the record against the paperwork. The company name on your estimate and the name on the licence should match. If they do not, ask why before you sign. That applies to us, and to whoever else is quoting.

The four fields worth reading

  • Status. Active is the only status that lets a Nevada contractor take your job. This record read Active on 23 September 2026.
  • Expiration date. Every Nevada licence runs on a renewal cycle. A static web page cannot tell you where one sits today and the Board's record can, which is why this section links to it rather than reproducing it.
  • Classifications. The letters are what actually decide the work a licence permits. Ours are set out below.
  • Monetary limit. $3,300,000 here, which is the ceiling the Board sets on the size of a single contract. A whole-house window replacement or a re-side does not come near it; on a multi-family or commercial building it is the first figure to check.

What B-2 covers, and what B-1 and B-3 are not doing for you

B-2 Residential and Small Commercial is the classification a window, siding or door job runs under, on a house or on a small commercial building. For the work this site sells, it is the only line on the record that decides anything.

B-1 Premanufactured Housing and B-3 Speculative Building sit on the same licence. They are in the table because they are on the record, not because they add anything to a window order. They cover other kinds of work, and a licence with more letters on it is not a better licence for your job.

The Nevada Housing Division licence, B1669, is a General Serviceperson (Installation) licence for manufactured housing. Advanced Design & Development Inc holds it, it is a genuine licence, and it is largely beside the point unless the building in question is a manufactured home.

What this record does not cover is worth saying plainly: excavation, grading, paving, sewers and foundations are outside it, and none of that is work we sell.

If a Nevada job goes wrong and we cannot settle it between us, the Board is also the body that takes the complaint, and the Residential Recovery Fund sits behind it. Our Terms and Conditions set out that right in full, with the statute numbers.
