Where we work

Where Windows and Siding Reno works, and what your neighborhood's houses are actually built out of

The shop is at 1155 Watson Way, Suite 7 in Sparks. Everything here sits on one of four road corridors out of the Truckee Meadows, and every entry names the build era, the exposure, and the counter your permit question goes to.

The footprint

How far we go, and why

Four roads set the footprint, because roads are how people reason about distance. I-80 runs east out of Sparks through Fernley toward Fallon, roughly sixty road miles from the shop. I-580 and US-395 run south through Washoe Valley to Carson City and on down the Carson Valley floor to Minden and Gardnerville. US-50 runs east from Carson City through Dayton; US-95A drops south from Fernley to Yerington. NV-431, the Mount Rose Highway, climbs west to Incline Village. Nothing here is off one of those four.

Community by community

Every place we quote in, and the one thing that decides the job there

Each card names the jurisdiction and the one fact that changes what we specify there.

Reno

Post-war tract east of Wells went in with aluminium-frame single-pane sliders and no thermal break. The city publishes no window-replacement exemption and defers to the IRC, which grants none.

Sparks

Like-for-like window and door replacement sits on the city's own exempt-work list. The volume job is 1998 to 2008 builder vinyl in the north-east subdivisions, now at end of life.

Spanish Springs

Most of it went up between 1995 and 2008, and that builder vinyl fails in order: fogged units, chalked sash, failed balances. A permit exemption is not an HOA exemption.

Sun Valley

A HUD-code manufactured home is not an IRC building. Its openings are non-standard sizes, with flange details a stick-built window will not fit.

Verdi

Washoe County moved to the 2024 wildland-urban interface code on 1 July 2025, mandatory for every submittal from 1 January 2026. That is a cladding decision, not a glass one.

Washoe Valley

NDOT prohibits vehicles nine feet or taller on I-580 through here at 50 mph. That is the load a west elevation and its siding fasteners are taking.

Incline Village

In the Tahoe basin, doors and windows must meet TRPA's glazing requirements on top of the county's. Sealed units built near sea level arrive above 6,000 feet carrying trapped pressure.

Carson City

Cold-air pooling makes this the coldest ground we work on, so U-factor leads the spec. On the West Side, pre-1978 paint is the default assumption around a sash.

Gardnerville and Minden

Downslope wind off the Sierra escarpment along the Foothill Road front, over a cold-air pool. The Ranchos add a large manufactured share to 1960s and 1970s stock.

Dayton

A different county and a different answer than Reno or Sparks: Lyon does not name window or door replacement as exempt. Old Town and Dayton Valley are unrelated jobs.

Fernley

The 1998 to 2008 tract cohort is eighteen to twenty-eight years old now, on an open plain where west wind out of the Truckee canyon carries dust.

Fallon

Lahontan Valley alkali fines pack sill weep channels and abrade weatherstrip, which is how a slider fails before its frame does. Two building departments, one town name.

Yerington

The same Lyon County building office that covers Dayton, at the far end of US-95A. Call before you plan a date around us and we will tell you yes or no.

Before you call

Three questions about where we work

Not on this list?

Call and we will tell you yes or no

We quote inside the four corridors above. Outside them it depends on the job and the week, and that is a straight answer we can give you on the phone in a minute.

The shop line is (775) 391-8487, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

  • We confirm the building department before anything is ordered
  • We measure every opening before anything is quoted
  • Nevada work only: we do not cross into California

Travel and estimate-visit charges outside the Reno and Sparks core: the estimate visit is free anywhere we serve, and if a travel line would ever apply to a remote address it appears on the written estimate itself, not after it.
